Letter of Introduction
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the St. Lorenzo Ruiz Middle School Community!As the principal of St. Lorenzo Ruiz, I am excited and blessed to work alongside all of you as we begin preparations to open August 31, 2023.I have a strong belief in Catholic education where students are on a journey to know and love Jesus. I value authentic, student-centered learning environments that are rooted in positive, supportive relationships. I look forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff as we work in partnership to build St. Lorenzo Ruiz into a school community we can all be proud of.
As a way of introduction, I would like to share some interesting facts with you about myself. I began my teaching vocation in 2002 at Rosary School in Manning, Alberta. My first experience with Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) was as a teacher at St. Patrick’s Community School in 2005, and remained with this school community for nine years.In 2014, I was the assistant principal at Father Henri Voisin School when the school first opened. In 2017, I worked at Montfort Centre, our Division’s Central Office, as Director of Inclusive Learning, after which I went to École Our Lady of the Rosary School in Sylvan Lake as the principal, until taking the principalship at St. Lorenzo Ruiz.
My wife, Dallas, and I have three children, Avery, Owen and Peyton who all attend RDCRS. Our family enjoys playing baseball, softball, basketball, and we are all Oilers fans! We also enjoy watching movies and spending time outdoors together.
I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you and your families. More information will be coming over the next few months.
